If going to the beach is what you like to do on holiday, then New Zealand is a great vacation destination. This country has a plethora of magical beaches, and all of them are different.
For some inspiration, take a look at following New Zealand’s most attractive beaches.
Ninety Mile Beach, Northland
This beach is being located on the Far North’s western shores. It is a magical place that you will fall in love with it as soon as you visit it. The beach starts at Ahipara and ends at Scott Point.
Today, tourists come to this beach for two main reasons. The first reason is the jaw-dropping sunset, and the second one is the left-hand surf break.
Cathedral Cove, the Coromandel
This place is super scenic and a vacation here will definitely be unforgettable. Cathedral Cove is the spot’s crown jewel. The only disadvantage is that this location is accessible only on foot or by boat.
Yet, it is a stunning beach that once it is being seen it will not be forgotten.
Koekohe Beach, Otago Coast
The Moeraki Boulders are some stunning rock formations. They have been exposed over time to Koekohe Beach through erosion. These circular stones have formed around 60 million years ago.
Today, they are this beach’s hallmark. The beach itself is stunning and we highly recommend visiting it.
Awaroa Beach, Abel Tasman National Park
The Awaroa is part of Abel Tasman National Park. The aqua-blue waters are gorgeous. The best thing you can do here is to go for a boat tour from Kaiteriteri or Totaranui.
Another excellent activity is to hike about 4.4 miles from Onetahuti or Totaranui.
Karekare Beach, Auckland
The sizeable waves and soft black sand make this place a favorite among athletes and sunbathers. This place is part of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park. It is a popular location for filmmakers too.
You can see it in movies such as ’’The Piano’’ or ’’Xena: Warrior Princess’’. A short hike through the coastal forest will lead you to the dramatic drop and swimming hole.
Rarawa Beach, Far North
The main feature that will impress you here is the white sand which looks spectacular. Yet, it is important to wear sunglasses at all times, to combat the reflection off of the white silica sand.
The ocean is also stunning with its crystal-clear waters. Plus, swimming in the lagoon that forms at high tide is a unique experience. The department of conservation also provides camping on the beach.
Mount Maunganui main Beach, Tauranga
This beach is simply breathtaking. The blue waters and the green hills create colorful contrasts. This beach is very popular, and the atmosphere from here is fun and vibrant.
It is the perfect spot for a fun and exciting holiday. There is a wide range of cafes, bars, and restaurants to choose from. Also, ice cream parlors line the street across from the beach.
So, a scoop of something sweet and delicious is never far away. This place is perfect for anyone who wants to have fun. If you are looking to relax on your holiday, then it is best to choose another beach.
